KUWAIT CITY, March 20: Astronomer Dr Adel Al-Sa’adoun says the widespread presence of butterflies in Kuwait recently was the result of the rains and blooming of flowers that happens usually during the spring season.

However, he warned about the increased presence of snakes and other reptiles in the desert, says Al-Seyassah. He explained that butterflies leave their cocoons throughout the year but their numbers increase during the spring season. However, these butterflies will disappear within a couple of weeks as they are shortlived, about ten days.

Meanwhile, meteorologist Essa Ramadan said the spread of butterflies is linked to the season of migration and the increasing number of plants due to the rains in the country.
