ABU DHABI, Mar 14: The UAE Cyber Security Council has urged individuals and organizations to remain vigilant against wiper malware, one of the most destructive forms of malicious software designed to deliberately erase data and disrupt digital systems.
In a statement, the council warned that such viruses pose a serious threat to digital infrastructure, as they are specifically engineered to wipe data from devices and networks, potentially causing major operational disruptions.
The council called on users to follow best cybersecurity practices, including regularly updating systems, avoiding suspicious or untrusted links and files, and maintaining secure and up-to-date data backups.
It stressed that raising awareness and maintaining preparedness are key to protecting data and digital services, while also helping to reduce the potential impact of cyberattacks.
