LOS ANGELES, Nov 26, (Agencies): Renowned singer Bryan Adams has recently embraced the path of an independent artist, drawing inspiration from Taylor Swift’s bold decision to re-record her back catalog amid a dispute with the Big Machine label. In an interview with USA Today, Adams revealed, “I feel emboldened and empowered now. Taylor Swift, I’m quite grateful to her because I re-recorded my masters after hearing she did it. She was my inspiration.” This move towards independence has significantly boosted Adams’ productivity, fostering renewed vigor as he navigates the industry with a fresh perspective on his own worth.

Despite his extensive career, Adams confessed to habitually undervaluing himself. Last year, he received a Grammy nomination after nearly 25 years without one, a moment that caught him by surprise. Reflecting on the recognition, he shared, “I’m the biggest culprit of underplaying my value. Last year when I got a Grammy nomination, I almost fell off my chair. It was my first in 24 years, and I thought, what? It’s not like I haven’t been doing anything all these years, but I was so thrilled and happy that it happened because it’s coming from peers.”

Addressing the longevity of his vocal abilities, Adams humorously admitted to having “no idea” how he has preserved his vocals over the years. Speculating on possible reasons, he mentioned genetics and a lifestyle that steer clear of excessive partying. He elaborated, saying, “I have no idea. Genetics, perhaps. I’ve never really been one to get out there and party much so that might be part of it. I keep myself to myself.”

Sharing insights into his unique approach to touring, Adams highlighted a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off schedule, allowing for both professional commitments and personal time with family. He emphasized his deliberate choice to never write songs beyond his vocal range, ensuring a sustainable and enjoyable musical journey throughout his illustrious career.
