Officers, drug dealers & guard hurt in shootout at farmhouse

KUWAIT CITY, May 18: Anti-narcotics officers, led by Drug Control General Department Director Brigadier General Muhammad Qabazard, dealt a painful blow to the drug dealers after an exchange of fire between them and three Bedoun drug dealers. The shootout resulted in the injury of an Asian livestock pen guard who was being used by the drug dealers in Kabad. He sustained a gunshot wound on his hand, while the dealers and two officers got injuries and bruises in different parts of their bodies.

According to a security source, the police officers received information about the activity of a drug dealer who was exploiting a livestock pen Kabad. A team of police officers was formed to raid the pen. During the raid, one of the dealers fired his weapon at the police officers who responded and exchanged fire with him until he and two others were subdued despite their fierce resistance.

Two dealers and two detectives were injured, in addition to the pen’s guard who was shot in the hand and subsequently referred to Farwaniya Hospital. The source added that the drug dealers were found in possession of an undisclosed quantity of hashish and cocaine, a pistol and a Kalashnikov. A case was registered and the drug dealers were referred to the concerned authorities, along with the confiscated items.
