KUWAIT CITY, Aug 26: The Ministry of Interior has launched an investigation into a long-standing fraud case, classified as a misdemeanor, under file No. 79/2025. The accused has admitted to committing the fraud and receiving KD 45,000 from the complainant, but failing to pay any promised profits. Detectives have referred the suspect to the Public Prosecution, attaching his confessions.
According to a security source, the complainant, a Kuwaiti citizen born in 1985, approached the Al Shaab Police Station alleging that she was defrauded by a Bedoun (Stateless). She claimed to have paid the suspect KD 45,000, both in cash and through bank transfers. The agreement, made in December 2014, involved the construction of a restaurant, with an understanding that she would receive a share of the profits six months after completion.
However, the source added, the accused never paid her any profits nor returned the principal amount. Hawally detectives contacted the suspect, who voluntarily appeared and confessed to the fraud. The complainant has not provided a reason for waiting nearly 11 years before filing the report, which was submitted four months before the end of 2025.
