MANAMA, Feb 11: Bashar Abdullah, Acting Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, highlighted that Kuwait’s participation in the Bahrain Sports Summit in Manama reflects the authority’s commitment to boosting regional partnerships and learning from successful experiences to advance the national sports system and improve institutional efficiency.
Speaking at a panel titled “Sports Management” on the second day of the summit, Abdullah said the event serves as a key platform to discuss major challenges facing modern sports, including sports administration, sector investment, youth empowerment, governance, sustainability of sports facilities, and the role of sports in social and economic development.
He emphasized that Kuwait’s participation aligns with the country’s strategic vision, focusing on adopting global best practices and benefiting from the experiences of sister and friendly nations. Such gatherings, he noted, create new opportunities for collaboration and help build effective partnerships to serve Kuwaiti sports.
Abdullah also stressed the authority’s active involvement in summit sessions and workshops, aiming to present a comprehensive view of Kuwait’s sports landscape. He highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance sports infrastructure, support federations and clubs, and develop national talent through training programs and capacity-building initiatives.
