NAGOYA, Oct 24: Acting Director-General of the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, Bashar Abdullah Al-Salem, has praised Kuwait’s athletes for their outstanding performances at the 2026 Asian Para Games in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan.

Faisal Sorour captured gold in the F42 shot put with a record-breaking throw of 16.06 meters. Malak Al-Anzi won bronze in the F54 shot put with a distance of 4.98 meters, while Dhari Nassar Al-Bati secured bronze in the F37 event with a throw of 12.53 meters.

Bashar said the medals reflected the strength of Kuwait’s integrated sports system, which provides athletes with equal opportunities through technical preparation, overseas training camps, and logistical and medical support to ensure they are ready for continental and international competitions.

“The achievements of Faisal and Malak are a source of pride for Kuwaiti sports and demonstrate the authority’s continued commitment to empowering national athletes and providing them with the ideal environment to compete at major international events,” he said.
