MIAMI, May 9: Barron Trump, the 18-year-old son of former President Donald Trump, has been selected as one of Florida’s at-large delegates to the upcoming Republican National Convention. The decision was made by the Republican Party of Florida during a meeting on Wednesday night, where other members of the Trump family were also chosen for delegate roles.

Eric Trump, Barron’s brother, will serve as the delegation chair, responsible for nominating his father for the presidential candidacy. Additionally, Donald Trump Jr., Tiffany Boulos (formerly Trump), and her husband Michael Boulos were selected as at-large delegates.

A Trump campaign official noted Barron’s interest in the nation’s political process, indicating his willingness to engage in political activities at a young age.

Despite ongoing legal proceedings involving Donald Trump, which had initially posed a challenge for Barron’s high school graduation attendance, the judge’s recent ruling permits his attendance at the ceremony next week.

The delegates, including Barron, will participate in the Republican National Convention scheduled for July in Milwaukee. Notably, Ivanka Trump remains uninvolved in politics following her role as a senior adviser in her father’s administration.

Republican Party of Florida Chair Evan Power expressed confidence in the diverse composition of the delegation, which includes grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family. The group represents a blend of political affiliations within the GOP, with endorsements from prominent figures such as Governor Ron DeSantis and former Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Florida, a crucial battleground state, continues to show strong support for Donald Trump, leading President Joe Biden by a significant margin in recent polls. Trump’s previous victories in the state underscore its importance in the upcoming presidential race.
