Bangladesh Ambassador to Kuwait, His Excellency Major General Syed Tareq Hussain
On behalf of the Government and the people of Bangladesh, and on my own behalf, I extend my warmest congratulations and heartfelt felicitations to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Al- Khaled Al-Hamad Al- Mubarak Al-Sabah, and the brotherly people of the State of Kuwait on the joyous occasion of the 65th National Day and the 35th Liberation Day of Kuwait. These cherished occasions commemorate Kuwait’s proud history, sovereignty, and remarkable journey of progress and development.
Under the wise leadership of His Highness the Amir, Kuwait continues to thrive as a beacon of peace, stability, and prosperity in the region. The friendship between Bangladesh and Kuwait is deep-rooted and historic, founded on mutual respect and shared aspirations for the welfare of our peoples. Kuwait’s recognition of Bangladesh on November 4, 1973 as the first Gulf country marked the beginning of excellent bilateral relations, which have since expanded into strong cooperation in human resources, trade, investment, development, energy, defense, and other key sectors.
Military cooperation remains a proud pillar of our partnership. Bilateral defense ties date back to 1990, when Bangladeshi forces joined the coalition to liberate Kuwait. Their contributions in the post-Gulf War period, particularly in landmine clearance, and medical support during the COVID-19 pandemic remain highly valued.
Today, Bangladesh Military Contingents continue to serve alongside the Kuwait Armed Forces under Operation Kuwait Punarghathan (OKP), contributing to engineering, IT, security, medical and related fields. I am confident that the close relations between our two friendly countries will continue to grow and expand for the mutual benefit of our peoples. On this auspicious occasion, I pray to the Almighty for the continued good health and happiness of His Highness the Amir and for the lasting peace, progress, and prosperity of the brotherly people of Kuwait.
