Bangladesh’s top level team visits Kuwait’s Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway

KUWAIT CITY, April 18: A high level delegation of the Government of Bangladesh led by Cabinet Secretary Anwarul Islam Khandker visited Kuwait from 10 April to 13 April to have an in-person experience of the technical aspects of the maintenance of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway in Kuwait. On 13 April, the delegation headed by Anwarul Islam Khandker, Cabinet Secretary of Bangladesh participated in a meeting with the Public Authority for Roads and Land Transport (PART) of the State of Kuwait. The meeting was held in a very warm and cordial ambience.

It may be mentioned here that, Padma Multipurpose Bridge on River Padma, one of the mega projects of Bangladesh is on the process of inauguration by June 2022. During the meeting both the parties exchanged their views on the operations, maintenance and technical aspects of both the bridges. During the meeting H.E. Major General Md Ashikuzzaman, ndc, afwc, psc, G, Ambassador of Bangladesh in Kuwait, Md Shafiqul Islam, Project Director, Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project, Quazi Muhammad Ferdous, Chief Engineer, Bangladesh Bridge Authority, Iqbal Hussain Khan, Director General, West Asia Wing, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Niaz Morshed, First Secretary & Head of Chancery, Bangladesh Embassy, Kuwait, Robert John Aves, Project Manager, Padma Multipurpose Bridge Project accompanied the Cabinet Secretary.

H.E. Hussain Ali Al Khayat, Chairman of PART of the State of Kuwait, Khaled Khalaf bin Salama, vice chairman of the Board, Eng. Suha Jasshim Ashkanani, Managing Director of PART, Eng. Mahmud Ramadan, Director of the Highways Department, Eng. Anwar Al Balushi, Head of Implementation Section, Eng. Mohammad Abdeen, Project Engineer and four site engineers were present from Kuwait side. Anwarul Islam Khandker, Cabinet Secretary of Bangladesh invited the esteemed delegation of PART to visit Bangladesh. After the meeting, the Bangladeshi delegation visited the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway.
