Bangladeshi, Pakistani die in traffic mishaps

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 4: A Bangladeshi expatriate died when he was run over by a Kuwaiti citizen’s vehicle while he was crossing the road in Abdali farm area, reports Al-Rai daily.

According to security sources, when a Kuwaiti citizen informed the Operations Room of Ministry of Interior that he ran over a man by mistake while he was driving in the farm area, securitymen rushed to the location and discovered that the expatriate had died.

The corpse was referred to Forensics Department and a case was registered against the citizen at Qashaniya Police Station.

Meanwhile, a Pakistani died in a traffic accident on the Sixth Ring Road opposite the Firing Range, reports Al-Rai daily. The victim reportedly lost control of his vehicle which overturned several times before coming to a halt upside down.

The death was instantaneous. The corpse has been referred to Forensics. And, an unidentified 40-year-old Asian A/C and refrigeration mechanic died on duty while carrying out maintenance on a central air-conditioning unit in a building in Fahaheel, reports Al-Shahed daily. The victim was reportedly electrocuted.

Suicide attempted: An unidentified young woman has been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit of the Mubarak Al-Kabir Hospital after she attempted in vain to end her life by consuming Panadol pills, reports Al-Anba daily. The daily added, following a distress call made by the victim’s family paramedics and police rushed to the spot, took the woman to the hospital and she was given a stomach wash. According to sources the woman had consumed 20 Panadol pills in what authorities called a vain attempt to end her life. According to the victim’s mother the daughter wanted to end her life. Police are waiting for the victim’s condition to improve to interrogate her.
