KUWAIT CITY, Oct 31: The General Department of Criminal Investigation, represented by the Jahra Investigation Department and in cooperation with the Public Security Sector, has arrested a Bangladeshi national accused of murdering a security guard at a construction site in the Mutlaa area, less than 24 hours after the crime was reported.
According to the Ministry of Interior, security authorities received a report on the morning of Friday, Oct 30, 2026, that the body of a security guard had been found on the roof of a construction site.
Investigators and other concerned authorities immediately rushed to the scene, examined the site, and collected evidence.
Police investigations led to suspicion falling on a former security guard at the same site, who had reportedly been dismissed from his job a day before the victim's body was discovered.
The Ministry said the suspect later turned himself in at the Sharq Police Station on an arrest warrant related to his expired visa. According to the investigation, the suspect was seeking deportation before his alleged connection to the murder could be discovered.
During questioning, the suspect allegedly confessed to committing the crime following a dispute with the victim, who had replaced him at work. He admitted to assaulting the victim with a piece of wood and a knife, the Ministry said.
The suspect has been taken into custody, and the necessary procedures are being completed to refer him to the competent authorities for further legal action.
The arrest was made less than 24 hours after the authorities received the report, the Ministry added.
