Bangladeshi expat arrested in Salmiya with heroin and meth

KUWAIT CITY, Sept 24: Kuwait’s Hawally Governorate Security Directorate has arrested a Bangladeshi national accused of possessing and distributing narcotic substances as part of ongoing security operations targeting drug dealers and violators, the Ministry of Interior said.

The arrest was carried out by the Operations and Patrols Department’s Vehicle Operations Section after security personnel spotted the suspect behaving suspiciously in an open parking area. A precautionary search found narcotics in his possession.

During questioning, the suspect allegedly admitted that he had been distributing narcotics to users by hiding the substances in dirt lots and sending the locations to customers through his mobile phone.

He also told investigators that he had another quantity of narcotics at his residence in Salmiya. Security personnel subsequently proceeded to the residence and, after completing the necessary legal procedures, conducted a search that resulted in the seizure of additional narcotics and drug-related items.

According to the Ministry of Interior, the total seizure consisted of 101 bags of heroin, 25 bags of methamphetamine, four pieces of drug paraphernalia and a precision weighing scale.

The suspect and all seized items were referred to the competent authorities for the necessary legal action. The Ministry of Interior said the operation forms part of continuing security efforts to apprehend drug dealers and protect public safety.
