Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait observes ‘Historic 7th March’

KUWAIT CITY, March 8: Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait observed, the ‘Historic 7th March – 2022” at the Chancery in a befitting manner on Monday 7th March 2022. Presided over by H.E. Major General Md Ashikuzzaman, ndc, afwc, psc, G, Ambassador of Bangladesh, embassy officials, members of the community and representatives of the print and electronic media were present during the program.

On this day, H.E. Ambassador Major General Md Ashikuzzaman, hoisted the National Flag ceremoniously in the presence of the embassy officials and number of members of Bangladesh community in Kuwait. Later on the ambassador along with other officers of the embassy placed floral wreath before the portrait of the Father of the Nation and Special Dua and Munajat were offered seeking divine blessings for all martyrs and prayed for the continued progress of the country. Later on, the discussion program began with recitation from the Holy Ouran at the Embassy Hall Room.

The messages given by the Hon’ble President and the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Bangladesh on the occasion of the ‘Historic 7th March-2022’ read out by Officers of the Embassy. A video document of ‘Historic 7th March Speech’ was shown at the program. The discussion session took place in a very lively atmosphere. In the presence of H.E. Major General Md Ashikuzzaman, members of Bangladesh community in Kuwait including various professionals, freedom fighters, leaders of cultural organizations voluntarily took part in the discussion. They recall the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman with deep respect in their speeches. They highlighted the importance of the ‘Historic 7th March Speech’ of Bangabandhu in achieving the independence of Bangladesh. In his speech, H.E. Major General Md Ashikuzzaman, recalled with great reverence the greatest Bengali of all times, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members martyred on 15 August 1975. He also paid tribute to four national leaders, three million martyrs, two hundred thousand dishonored women of the War of Liberation and the greatest sons of the nation – the Freedom Fighters, whose supreme sacrifices made independentsovereign Bangladesh.

The ambassador told that, 7th March is an unforgettable day in the history of Bangalees’s liberation movement and independence. The ‘Historic 7th March speech’ of Bangabandhu played a vital role in inspiring millions of Bangalees to achieve independence and liberation. The Historic March 7th speech was a great message to break the shackles of subjugation and plunge the freedom-loving people into war. The ambassador also told, Bangabandhu’s speech on 7th March is one of the most celebrated speeches in the world. UNESCO has recognized the 7th March Speech of Bangabandhu as part of the ‘World’s Documentary Heritage’ and included it in the ‘Memory of the World International Register’ on 30th October 2017, which is a matter of our pride as a nation.

The world renowned magazine Newsweek has mentioned Bangabandhu as the ‘Poet of Politics’ for this historic address. H.E. Ambassador urged all to get inspirations from the Historic 7th March and devote themselves to buildup the country through their patriotism and hard work. He also urged all Bangladesh nationals to work unitedly for the benefit of the country and asked Bangladesh nationals in Kuwait to abide by the rules and regulations of the State of Kuwait. He also thanked all the people who were present at the discussion session. Finally, refreshments were arranged for the guests. Md. Zehon Islam, Personal Officer to the ambassador anchored the entire program.
