Bangladesh Embassy gifts calligraphy works to Kuwait Grand Mosque

H.E. the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait, Major General Syed Tareq Hussain, presents two calligraphy works to Dr. Badr Ma’jun Al Dhafiri, Head of Kuwait Grand Mosque Authority, marking Bangladesh’s first artistic contribution to the mosque.

KUWAIT CITY, Sep 29: On 29 September 2025, H.E. the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait, Major General Syed Tareq Hussain, OSP, awc, psc, handed over two calligraphy works painted by a Bangladeshi artist to the Head of the Kuwait Grand Mosque Authority, Mr. Dr. Badr Ma'jun Al Dhafiri, for display at the famous Grand Mosque in Kuwait. It is worth mentioning that although the art galleries of the Grand Mosque of Kuwait have calligraphies from various countries of the world including Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Iraq, Yemen, Syria, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey, Pakistan, Malaysia, Japan, China, Spain, USA, but there had been no calligraphy from Bangladesh, the fourth largest Muslim-majority country in the world. Under these circumstances, the Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait took the initiative to collect and hand over two calligraphy works drawn by a young Bangladeshi calligraphy artist for display at the Grand Mosque in Kuwait on behalf of Bangladesh.
