KUWAIT CITY, Jun 2: His Excellency the Ambassador of Bangladesh to Kuwait Major General Syed Tareq Hussain, OSP, awc, psc has extended his heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the second anniversary of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah assuming his current responsibilities. Ambassador of Bangladesh has underscored that this milestone offers an opportunity to reflect not only on the wise and visionary leadership of His Highness but also on the tangible progress achieved in the fraternal relations between Bangladesh and the State of Kuwait over this period.

Since His Highness the Crown Prince assumed his duties, the ties of friendship and cooperation between Bangladesh and Kuwait have witnessed significant positive momentum, marked by several landmark developments. Ambassador Tareq Hussain has acknowledged that a historic milestone was achieved with the convening of the inaugural Foreign Office Consultations between Bangladesh and Kuwait. This structured dialogue has established a vital institutional mechanism for regular diplomatic engagement, enabling both sides to systematically review the full spectrum of bilateral cooperation and coordinate on matters of mutual interest.

In a major step toward expanding economic collaboration, a Bangladeshi business delegation visited Kuwait to explore trade and investment opportunities. The visit facilitated direct interaction between the private sectors of both countries, identifying potential areas for joint ventures, particularly in infrastructure, food security, and services, thereby laying the groundwork for deeper commercial ties.

Ambassador Tareq Hussain has emphasized that the longstanding Bangladesh Military Contingent (BMC) in Kuwait continues to serve as a cornerstone of bilateral defense collaboration. Over the past two years, military-to-military cooperation has been further enhanced, with the BMC playing a commendable role in supporting Kuwait’s security and operational readiness. This partnership reflects the deep trust and mutual respect shared between the armed forces of both nations.

Demonstrating the enduring spirit of solidarity and friendship, the Government of Bangladesh recently dispatched a goodwill consignment of food items to the State of Kuwait. This gesture came amid the ongoing situation in West Asia, expressing Bangladesh’s sincere empathy and support for the brotherly people of Kuwait. It underscores the shared values of mutual assistance and fraternity that define Bangladesh-Kuwait relations.

Ambassador of Bangladesh also expressed his profound optimism and confidence that the partnership between the two brotherly nations would continue to flourish. Guided by the wise leadership of His Highness the Crown Prince and the shared aspirations of the people of both countries, he looks forward to further strengthening cooperation across all sectors—political, economic, defense, and cultural—in the years to come.
