KUWAIT CITY, Jan 27: The mare Bakhita Al-Ghanayem, owned by Yousef Al-Khalifi and trained by Yousef Al-Khalifi, with jockey Mohammed Al-Faraj aboard, claimed the Al-Diwan Stud Cup after winning the seventh race for Egyptian-bred Arabian horses (C4) over 1,000 meters in a time of 1:13.54. The race was held as part of the 13th meeting of the Kuwait Hunting and Equestrian Club’s horse racing season.
The trophy was presented by Khaled Mohammed Al-Asfour, owner of Al-Diwan Stud. At the same time, Sheikh Sabah Fahd Al-Nasser, Chairman of the Supreme Authority for Horse Racing and Secretary General of the Kuwait Hunting and Equestrian Club, honored Al-Asfour in recognition of his role in supporting the event.
Al-Asfour said equestrian sport represents the noble qualities of the horse and reflects the rider’s skill and ability to achieve the best possible results on the track.
He added that, in line with Al-Diwan Stud’s focus on Arabian horses of Egyptian bloodlines, the stud was keen to expand their participation in competitive racing alongside beauty contests, prompting the initiative to sponsor a dedicated race once the opportunity arose.
Al-Asfour also extended his gratitude to Alaa Hamad Al-Roumi, owner of Al-Raya Stud, for his valued initiative and continuous efforts to develop the concept and ensure its success, and thanked the Kuwait Hunting and Equestrian Club for its excellent organization.
