Baidan inaugurates sports village in Mishrif

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 10: Yousef Al-Baidan, the Director General of the Public Authority for Sports, inaugurated the sports village at the Mishrif sports arena, organized by the Kuwait Sports for All Federation. The event was attended by members of the Federation’s Board of Directors, led by Mahmoud Abel. This sports initiative, situated in the Mishrif area, is designed to benefit the community, fostering a well-rounded personality by offering sports opportunities to all members of society.

Al-Baidan emphasized that the Mushrif Sports Village is the pioneer of several upcoming villages scheduled to open across all regions of Kuwait. The objective is to cater to the Kuwaiti family, with an anticipated attendance exceeding 60,000 individuals, including Kuwaiti citizens, families, and residents. The project aims to provide an environment conducive to sports and entertainment.

The Sports Villages project, lasting four months, will unfold in every governorate of Kuwait, operating three days a week (Thursday – Friday – Saturday) as part of the Federation’s ongoing activities for Kuwaiti families, according to Mahmoud Abel, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kuwait Sports for All Federation.

Abel expressed optimism about the project’s success, envisioning it as an extension of their plan to deliver community sports services. He outlined the diverse facilities within the village, such as playgrounds, a bicycle path, areas for group and mental games, various electronic sports games, arcades, boxing, a children’s play zone, foot-kicking spaces, a games hall for men, and a designated area for women.
