Al-Qadsia Bahraini coach Reda Ali.

KUWAIT CITY Nov 22: Al-Qadsia Club has enlisted the services of Bahraini coach Reda Ali to lead the club's first volleyball team in the upcoming season. Reda takes over from Argentine coach Julian Alvarez, whose contract was mutually terminated due to personal circumstances.

Having previously guided the Al-Qadsia in the 2021-22 season, Reda Ali secured the league championship, marking the 23rd title in the history of Al-Qadsia. The experienced coach brings an impressive track record, having led teams such as Al-Nasr, Bahraini Al-Ahly, Al-Jazira, Bani Yas, and UAE-based Shabab Al-Ahly, in addition to coaching the Bahrain national team for youth players.

Coach Reda Ali arrived in the country and has already commenced his responsibilities with Al-Qadsia. His initial focus will be on the general league, which has completed only one round so far, with Al-Kuwait securing the Al-Ittihad Refresher Championship and Super Cup titles.

In other developments, the first round of the General League Championship concluded with Burgan clinching a hard-fought victory over Yarmouk, securing a 3-2 win (25-17, 20-25, 22-25, 25-13/15-9). Meanwhile, Al-Shabab had a comfortable three-game win against Al-Sulaibikhat, with scores of “25-13, 25-15, 25-13.”

Following these results, the standings for General League teams after the first round are as follows: Al-Shabab, Al-Qadsia, and Al-Arabi each with 3 points; Burgan and Al-Kuwait each with 2 points; Kazma and Yarmouk with 1 point each; while Al-Tadamon, Al-Sahel, and Sulaibikhat have yet to score.
