DUBAI (AP), Apr 7: Gulf countries are taking heightened precautionary measures as they brace for potential Iranian retaliation, with tensions escalating ahead of a deadline set by US President Donald Trump.
Air raid sirens sounded in Bahrain on Tuesday evening, warning of an incoming threat, while the United Arab Emirates reported that its air defense systems were actively responding to a missile. In Qatar, authorities said a missile was successfully intercepted.
Meanwhile, in Kuwait, officials ordered the closure of all shops and commercial establishments from midnight to 6:00 a.m. Wednesday as a precautionary measure, citing the evolving regional situation.
The developments underscore growing concern across the Gulf as governments step up security readiness in response to the risk of further escalation.
