Bahrain Sirens Sound as Iran Claims Drone Attacks on US Bases in Bahrain, Jordan; Claims Unverified

MANAMA / TEHRAN, Jul 24: Air raid sirens sounded across Bahrain on Friday, prompting authorities to urge residents to seek shelter, as Iran claimed it had launched drone attacks targeting US military bases in Bahrain and Jordan.

Bahrain's Interior Ministry said sirens had been activated and called on citizens and residents to remain calm and head to the nearest safe place while following official instructions.

Meanwhile, Iran's army said it had targeted US military bases in Bahrain and Jordan with drones as part of the latest phase of its military operation, dubbed "Saegheh."

According to a statement from the army's public relations office, drones struck fuel storage facilities, equipment warehouses and accommodation used by US forces at Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.

The Iranian military also claimed to have targeted aircraft shelters, aircraft maintenance hangars and accommodation for US personnel at Azraq Air Base in Jordan.

There was no immediate confirmation from Bahrain, Jordan or the US military regarding the reported attacks or any resulting damage.
