Bahrain Says 114 Ballistic Missiles, 190 Drones Intercepted Since Start of Hostilities

MANAMA, March 12 : The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) said its air defence systems have intercepted and destroyed 114 ballistic missiles and 190 drones targeting the Kingdom since the start of hostilities.

In a statement carried by the Bahrain News Agency, the BDF General Command said the interceptions were carried out as part of ongoing efforts to counter what it described as successive waves of hostile Iranian attacks against the Kingdom.

The General Command praised the high level of readiness and vigilance demonstrated by BDF personnel, noting that the forces’ operational performance has helped maintain the security of Bahrain’s airspace and protect the country.

Authorities also urged citizens and residents to exercise caution and cooperate with security measures. The public was advised to stay away from affected areas and suspicious objects, refrain from photographing or filming military operations or debris sites, and avoid circulating unverified information. Officials said updates and advisories should only be followed through official government channels.

The BDF General Command further stated that the use of ballistic missiles and drones against civilian areas and private property constitutes a serious violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter, warning that such attacks pose a direct threat to regional peace and security.
