MANAMA, July 14: Bahrain's High Criminal Court has sentenced 10 people to prison terms of up to five years for violence and sabotage linked to the Iranian attacks on the kingdom in March, the Chief of the Terrorism Crimes Prosecution announced on Tuesday.

According to the Public Prosecution, the defendants were convicted in two separate cases after being arrested at two different locations while allegedly carrying out violent and destructive acts during the Iranian attacks. The court also ordered the confiscation of seized items.

The cases were referred to prosecutors following reports from the Ministry of Interior's relevant security authority. Investigators questioned the defendants, interviewed witnesses and gathered forensic evidence while ensuring all legal procedures and safeguards were observed.

After reviewing the evidence over several hearings, the High Criminal Court handed down the sentences on Tuesday.

The Public Prosecution reaffirmed its commitment to taking firm legal action against anyone involved in acts of violence or vandalism that threaten public order or endanger public safety, stressing that it will continue to enforce the law to safeguard Bahrain's security and stability.
