MANAMA, Apr 5: The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) said its air defence systems have intercepted and destroyed 188 ballistic missiles and 466 drones targeting Bahrain since the onset of hostilities, as authorities continue to counter what they described as successive waves of Iranian attacks.
In a statement, the General Command praised the “exceptional combat readiness and vigilance” of its personnel, highlighting their sustained operational effectiveness in protecting the Kingdom’s airspace. Officials said the performance of Bahrain’s forces continues to reinforce confidence that the country’s skies remain secure.
The BDF urged citizens and residents to exercise caution, advising them to avoid affected areas and suspicious objects, refrain from filming military operations or debris sites, and rely only on official sources for information.
The statement also condemned the use of ballistic missiles and drones against civilian areas and private property, describing such actions as a violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter, and a direct threat to regional peace and security.
