MANAMA, Mar 15: The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) announced that its air defence systems have successfully intercepted and destroyed 125 ballistic missiles and 203 drones targeting the Kingdom since the start of the ongoing hostilities linked to Iran. The military said the interceptions were achieved through the “unwavering vigilance” and high combat readiness of BDF personnel, whose sustained operational performance continues to ensure the security of the country’s airspace.
The BDF General Command expressed pride in the preparedness and professionalism of its forces, noting that their efforts have reinforced confidence that the Kingdom’s skies remain secure despite repeated attacks.
Authorities urged citizens and residents to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines, including staying away from affected areas and suspicious objects, avoiding filming or photographing military operations or debris sites, and refraining from spreading unverified information. The public was also advised to rely only on official government channels for updates and advisories.
The command further stressed that the use of ballistic missiles and drones against civilian areas and private property constitutes a clear violation of international humanitarian law and the principles of the United Nations Charter, warning that such indiscriminate attacks pose a serious threat to regional peace and security.
