MANAMA, April 6: The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) announced Monday that its air defence systems have successfully intercepted and destroyed successive waves of hostile projectiles and drones launched as part of the ongoing Iranian aggression against the Kingdom.
According to the BDF statement, since the onset of hostilities, air defences have downed a total of 188 ballistic missiles and 468 drones targeting Bahrain. The command credited the success to the unwavering vigilance and high combat readiness of BDF personnel.
The General Command praised the exceptional performance and operational capability of the armed forces, affirming that their continued effectiveness inspires confidence in the security of Bahrain’s airspace.
The statement also called on all citizens and residents to exercise maximum caution for their safety. It urged the public to stay clear of affected or debris areas, avoid photographing or filming military operations, and refrain from spreading unverified information. The BDF advised residents to follow only official government sources for alerts and updates.
The General Command further condemned the use of ballistic missiles and drones to target civilian areas and private property, describing such actions as a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter. It warned that these indiscriminate attacks pose a direct threat to regional peace and stability.
