Bahrain Intercept 125 Missiles, 212 Drones Amid Ongoing Hostilities

MANAMA, Mar 16: The Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) announced that its air defence systems have successfully intercepted and destroyed 125 ballistic missiles and 212 drones targeting the Kingdom since the onset of hostilities.

In a statement, the BDF General Command said the interceptions were carried out through the vigilance and readiness of its personnel, who continue to counter successive waves of what it described as hostile Iranian aggression. The command praised the exceptional combat preparedness and operational effectiveness of its forces, saying their performance reinforces confidence that Bahrain’s skies remain secure.

The General Command also urged citizens and residents to exercise caution and follow safety instructions. The public was advised to stay away from affected areas and suspicious objects, avoid photographing or filming military operations or debris sites, refrain from spreading unverified information, and rely only on official government channels for updates.

Authorities further stressed that the use of ballistic missiles and drones targeting civilian areas and private property represents a serious violation of international humanitarian law and the principles of the United Nations Charter, warning that such attacks pose a direct threat to regional peace and security.
