MANAMA, July 14: Bahrain's Defence Force said Tuesday that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed several Iranian missile and drone attacks targeting the kingdom, accusing Tehran of continuing a "systematic hostile approach" against civilians.

In a statement, the General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force said its air defense units, operating with "high combat readiness," successfully confronted and neutralized multiple aerial threats early Tuesday.

The military said all weapons systems and units remain on the highest level of alert to safeguard the kingdom and respond to any further threats.

Authorities urged citizens and residents to avoid approaching any suspicious objects or debris resulting from the intercepted missiles and drones and to report them immediately. The Royal Field Engineering Unit has been placed on full readiness to safely recover and dispose of the remnants.

The General Command condemned what it described as the deliberate use of missiles and drones against civilians and private property, calling such attacks a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law.

It also praised the readiness and vigilance of Bahrain Defence Force personnel, commending their efforts in defending the kingdom and protecting its people.
