MANAMA, Apr 11: The Ministry of Interior announced that its Anti-Narcotics Directorate has foiled a major drug trafficking operation involving more than 100 kilograms of marijuana and hashish, leading to the arrest of three individuals.

According to the ministry, the narcotics—estimated to have a street value of around BD 1.5 million—were smuggled from Iran using so-called “dead mail drops,” before being distributed داخل Bahrain through the same method.

Authorities said investigations led to the identification and arrest of the suspects, while seizures included cash in multiple currencies, equipment used in smuggling and distribution, and two boats believed to have been used in transporting the drugs.

Legal action has been initiated, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution as authorities continue efforts to combat drug trafficking and related criminal networks.
