Bahrain Arrests 41 Allegedly Linked to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards

MANAMA, May 9: Bahrain authorities have arrested 41 people allegedly linked to a group associated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the ideology of Velayat-e Faqih, or “Guardianship of the Jurist,” reports Bahrain's Interior Minstry.

In a statement, Bahrain’s interior ministry said security agencies uncovered what it described as the group’s “main organization” following intelligence operations and investigations into earlier cases involving alleged espionage for foreign actors.

The ministry also accused members of the group of expressing sympathy with what it called “the blatant Iranian aggression,” amid heightened regional tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving Tehran.

Authorities said legal measures against those detained are currently underway, while investigations continue to identify additional individuals allegedly connected to the network.

Bahrain has previously accused Iran-backed groups of destabilizing activities within the kingdom, allegations Tehran has repeatedly denied.
