Manama, Mar 6: The Ministry of Interior announced that the Anti-Cybercrime Directorate at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security has arrested four individuals for misusing social media.
The suspects filmed and circulated videos related to the aftermath of the recent Iranian aggression, including footage from military sites, in a manner that violated the law and spread false information.
Authorities warned that such content could mislead public opinion, create fear among citizens and residents, and threaten security and public order. Legal action has been taken, and the case has been referred to the Public Prosecution.
The Ministry urged the public to rely only on official sources and avoid sharing or reposting unverified videos or news, emphasizing that doing so could lead to legal consequences and compromise national security.
