MANAMA, Jul 13: The Bahrain Defence Force said its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed several Iranian missiles and drones launched toward the Kingdom on Monday, accusing Iran of continuing what it described as a "systematic hostile approach" by targeting civilians.
In a statement, the General Command said the interceptions took place on the morning of July 13, adding that Bahrain's armed forces remain at the highest levels of combat readiness and on full alert to protect the Kingdom.
Authorities urged the public to avoid approaching any suspicious objects or debris resulting from the intercepted missiles and drones and to report them immediately. The Royal Field Engineering Unit has been deployed and is fully prepared to handle and safely dispose of the remnants.
The Bahrain Defence Force condemned the alleged targeting of civilians and private property, calling it a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. It also praised the vigilance and operational readiness of its personnel, reaffirming their commitment to defending the Kingdom.
