Qadsia captain Bader Al-Mutawa

KUWAIT CITY, Aug 20: Qadsia captain Bader Al-Mutawa is set to miss the club’s first two Zain Premier League matches after suffering a hamstring injury during the team’s training camp in Türkiye.

Al-Mutawa will sit out Qadsia’s opening-round encounter with Al-Fahaheel next Tuesday and is also expected to miss the second-round meeting with Kuwait Club on August 31.

The veteran forward picked up the injury during Qadsia’s friendly against Bahraini side Al-Khaldiya earlier this week.

He will undergo medical tests under the supervision of Kuwait Football Association Medical Committee Chairman Dr. Abdulmajeed Al-Banai, who will oversee his treatment and rehabilitation program.

His participation in Qadsia’s third-round fixture against Al-Nasr on September 4 has yet to be determined.

The Zain Premier League will then pause after the third round, with the fourth round scheduled after Kuwait participates in the 27th Gulf Cup in Saudi Arabia from September 23 to October 6.
