KUWAIT CITY, March 2: Despite Jong Simbol hauling 37 points for Yousef Power as they led the field in the first two quarters, Bad Bananas rallied in the third and final quarters to finish the game 103-93 in the first 5’8” division game at the PBLK conference series Friday afternoon at the Khaitan Sports Club.

The Yousef Power guard Simbol was 8 for 13 from the field and added six assists while his team mates forward Balderama added 15 points and Salamida pulled down 15 rebounds and added 10 points to his side’s slate in the 5’8” Division clash.

Power took an early 1-point lead in the first quarter, and then pulled away again in the second to finish with a 3-point lead midway into the game. But a Bananas rally ignited by Assisten early in the third saw Bananas pull within four points with 1:02 still left to play in the round.

Bananas’ Sotelo contested a shot and missed, grabbed an offensive rebound and followed with a second-chance score bringing a boost of energy as Bananas rallied to bridge the gap.

Rocreo powered Bananas to a 29-25 lead on 7-for-8 shooting in the third. He was 4 for 4 from 3-point range in the game totally. He made his first three shots, all from behind the arc during the first 3 minutes.

Bananas’ Balderama stole the ball from Alvin and converted it into a breakaway dunk, then intercepted a pass by Simbol to set up a breakaway layup by Assisten 13 seconds later. That sent Bananas cruising ahead in the final stretch.

Bad Bananas attempted 11 free throws in the third quarter and made 6, but didn’t get to the line again until Delay converted one of two with 36 seconds left in the final quarter.

Balderama’s layup and free throw sent Bananas surging 4 points ahead. His 3-pointer with 30 seconds left gave Bananas a 6-point cushion at the close of the fourth after a 25-25 run that brought the overall score to 103-93 despite Simbol hauling 37 points for Yousef Power.

Elsewhere in the inter-company division, Allan Yap scored 21 points, Mulit added 13 and 12 rebounds as HEISCO recorded their victory with an 83-73 drubbing of Matar Warriors. Archie Dequina had 25 points and Rhey Villanueva added 14 in the Warriors’ loss. Warriors turned the ball over 18 times leading to 23 HEISCO points.

The final inter-company game of the day was an easy one for K.F.M Al-Shatti as they pummeled Baskin Robbins 87-56.
