‘Back to normal’ nears – Kuwait breaks 1m jabs mark

KUWAIT CITY, April 25: Finally, the Ministry of Health broke the one million barrier of vaccinating the citizens and residents against ‘Covid 19’ virus. According to health source 1.22 million people have so far been vaccinated until yesterday afternoon – 24 percent of the population four months after the launch of the national campaign for vaccination against Covid-19 which kicked off at the end of last December. The health ministry crossing the one million mark opens the way for a relative breakthrough for the plan to return to normal life, according to previous statements issued by the Ministry of Health in this regard, in which it confirmed that easing restrictions depends on the expansion of vaccination campaign and breaking the million mark barrier in the country, which has already happened during the past few hours and more people are expected to be vaccinated over the next few days at a rapid pace.

In an indicator that may reflect the nature of the anticipated measures for a gradual return to life, Dr. Khaled Al-Jarallah, Chairman of the Supreme Advisory Committee to confront the pandemic prospects are bright for the gradual return to normal life in stages. On the social networking site ‘Twitter’, Al-Jarallah urged people to get vaccinated against Covid and to download the new application after vaccination to take advantage of the advantages granted to those who have been vaccinated. In a related development, the Director of the Central Department of Primary Health Care at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Dina Al-Dhabib announced the completion of the vaccination of more than 95% of workers in cooperative societies, indicating that the coming period will witness the vaccination of workers in markets, commercial complexes, factories and companies specializing in consumer and food products and factories. In a statement, Al-Dhabib clarified that the vaccination of all workers in the coops in the Hawalli, Mubarak Al-Kabeer, Al-Jahra, Ahmadi and Al-Asimah Governorates has been completed, in addition to the vaccination of about 5,000 employees and affiliates of the mosque sector, in addition to the completion of the vaccination of 3,000 employees of the banking sector. It is worth noting that the mobile clinics have vaccinated about 40,000 thousand people during the past 10 days, in addition to the vaccination of about 2,000 bedridden groups during February.
