MANAMA, Sep 15: Amazon Web Services (AWS) has been unable to restore access to its cloud region in Bahrain and one data-hosting zone in the United Arab Emirates following damage caused during the Iran war, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing a company status update.

AWS said the damage in Bahrain affected multiple availability zones and “exceeded what our regional and multi-AZ services are designed to withstand.”

Most customers have moved their operations to other AWS regions, the company said.

In the UAE, AWS remains unable to restore access to data and resources hosted exclusively in the affected zone, while recovery efforts continue elsewhere, according to Reuters.

AWS said it expects to provide a further update on restoration efforts in the UAE in the coming months, while an update on Bahrain is expected in early 2027.
