Awqaf to contribute USD 1 mln for Lebanon

KUWAIT, Aug 7: Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Dr. Fahad Al-Afasy announced on Friday that Kuwait Awqaf Secretatirat General is about to contribute USD one million to serve medical aid and supplies to Lebanese people.

Al-Afasy told KUNA that this donation comes due to the instructions of His Highness the Deputy Amir and Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah after Beiruts massive port blast.

He also assured that the department main role is to lend a hand for harmed and affected people from several Islamic societies, expressing condolences to victims’ families and wished all injured speedy recovery. (KUNA)
