Audit, Nazaha sign MoU to battle corruption

KUWAIT CITY, Nov 12: The Audit Bureau signed on Wednesday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Public Authority for Combating Corruption (Nazaha) to enhance aspects of cooperation between the two sides. In a press statement, Audit Bureau Undersecretary Abdulaziz Al-Houly said that this agreement is a culmination of work and effort between the two sides during the previous period and an expression of cooperation that achieves the public interest in combating corruption and preserving public funds.

Al-Houly added that the memorandum aims to strengthen the national commitment in preventing and combating corruption and confirming the readiness of the regulatory agencies to work and achieve what came under the noble directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior’s (MoI) Undersecretary Major General Essam Al-Naham held the opening ceremony of the traffic services center at the headquarters of the General Traffic department building, for the special needs community which include amenities like a drive-thru.

A press statement by the MoI said that personnel would be able to take care of necessities like renewing drivers license, registration, and pay tickets without having to dispense with their vehicles. Al-Naham also included that the ministry is currently undergoing studies involving all of their services centers for further development. Present at the ceremony was the MoI’s Assistant Undersecretary of Operations Maj-Gen Jamal Al-Sayegh, and Deputy Director of Psychological, Social and Medical Services at the Public Authority for Disabled Affairs Hanady Al-Mubaillish, along sector officials.
