KUWAIT CITY, Dec 5: Between April 1 and November 30, the Audit Bureau’s efforts resulted in saving KD 25 million (USD 80.9 million) for the state treasury. Sara Al-Hajeri, an auditor specializing in the advanced examination of allocations for affiliated and independent departments, stated that the bureau addressed 2,455 topics related to state spending in various sectors, totaling KD 3.27 billion (USD 10.6 billion). Of the cases reviewed, 84 percent pertained to ministries and government departments, with a cumulative value of KD three billion (approx. USD 9.7 billion).

Health-related cases were the most numerous, reaching 1,062, with an estimated value of KD one billion (USD three billion). Al-Hajeri noted that the bureau either approved, conditionally blessed, or renewed approval for 1,415 cases, totaling around KD 2.2 billion (USD 7.1 billion). Furthermore, Al-Hajeri mentioned that Diwan rejected 768 cases worth KD 458 million (USD 1.4 billion) due to non-compliance with specified terms.
