AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine receivers get calls for second dose

KUWAIT CITY, May 3: The Ministry of Health started sending text messages this week to everyone who received the first dose of AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine against corona 12 weeks ago for them to get the second dose of the vaccine, reports Al-Jarida daily quoting reliable sources. Sources disclosed the second dose of AstraZeneca-Oxford vaccine will be administered at Kuwait Vaccination Center in the exhibition grounds in Mishref and the health centers designated for this purpose.

Sources also confirmed that the 15th shipment of Pfizer- BioNtech vaccine from the Belgian capital Brussels on board Emirates Airlines is set to arrive Sunday. This shipment will be transported immediately to Kuwait Vaccination Center to be administered to those who registered on the vaccination platform, sources disclosed.

Meanwhile, the number of people who got vaccinated in Kuwait has reached more than 1.110 million and this number is expected to increase to 1.250 million by the end of this week. So far, the number of people who got vaccinated throughout the world exceed 1.150 billion, sources added.
