KUWAIT CITY, April 29: Former MP Saleh Al-Mullah said the National Assembly has the right to double check the results of parliamentary elections or recount the votes; but it must be done after amending the Constitutional Court Law, not as per the decision of the Assembly Office. He explained the first step is for the Assembly to withdraw the authority granted to the Constitutional Court to rule on election appeals. He warned that any other action could mean dragging citizens into personal disputes.

Meanwhile, constitutional expert Professor Ibrahim Al-Homoud has affirmed that the invitation to the upcoming ordinary session of the legislature is legal and constitutional. He pointed out that despite the announcement of His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah about the dissolution of the Assembly, it remains valid until the dissolution decree is published in Kuwait Gazette.
