NEW DELHI, Sept 8: The Asian Olympic Council extended its gratitude to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for his significant support of the "Asian Olympic Council and for hosting its headquarters in Kuwait. The Council highlighted how this support contributes to the advancement of sports across the Asian continent.
This acknowledgment took place during a meeting held in New Delhi, India, where the Executive Council members for the 2024-2028 term were elected. Kuwait is set to host the "Asian Congress" meeting in 2025.
During the 44th General Assembly, Raja Randhir Singh from India was elected as the new President of the Council. Singh, an Olympic athlete who has competed in five Olympic Games, was elected unopposed, demonstrating the strong support he has from the member states. These elections underscore Kuwait's growing influence in Asian sports and its commitment to enhancing cooperation among member states.
