KUWAIT CITY, July 21: Officers from the Capital Security Directorate's support patrols arrested an Asian expatriate in Bneid Al-Qar for allegedly manufacturing and selling locally produced liquor.
According to a security source, the suspect was stopped after patrol officers noticed him acting nervously while driving in the area on the evening before last. When ordered to pull over, he allegedly attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended.
A precautionary search of the vehicle led to the discovery of 48 bottles of locally made liquor. During questioning, the suspect reportedly admitted that he produced the liquor at his residence and sold each bottle to customers for KD 10.
The suspect was referred to the General Directorate for Drug Control for further investigation and legal action.
