Asian couple held for making, selling liquor and living in sin – Skeleton found in sewer that of woman; probe continues

KUWAIT CITY, May 15: Upon orders of the Director-General of the Farwaniya Security Directorate Brigadier Saleh Al-Enezi plainclothes police have arrested an unidentified Asian couple for bootlegging and adultery, reports Al-Anba daily.

According to the daily, acting on a tip-off police raided an apartment at an unidentified location, arrested the couple and seized from them large quantities of alcohol ready for sale, raw material and alcohol manufacturing equipment.

During interrogation the couple admitted to the charge and also said they had been living together as husband and wife although not married legally.

A case of trading in locally-manufactured alcohol and adultery has been filed against them.

Skeleton of woman: The human skeleton which was found in the sewer of the home of a Kuwaiti in Bayan belongs to a woman says a report which has been issued by the Forensics Department, reports Al-Anba daily.

The report also says the death occurred a long time ago, the cause of which still remains a mystery.

According to reliable sources, Forensics and the General Investigation Department have joined hands to find out the details in order to find the culprit.

The skeleton was found when the Kuwaiti owner of the house called a plumber to clear the sewage block.

Syrian stabbed in fight: A Syrian man sustained stab wounds and bruises in different parts of his body after engaging in a fistfight with a GCC national inside a commercial complex in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh.

Securitymen and paramedics rushed to the location after the Operations Unit at the Interior Ministry received information about the fight between the GCC national and Syrian man who exchanged blows.  The rescuers found the Syrian bleeding profusely as the GCC national allegedly took a knife and stabbed the victim three times.

The Syrian was taken to Farwaniya Hospital and investigations are in progress to determine the actual circumstances leading to the fight.

Filipina cheated, molested: A Sri Lankan man was arrested for molesting a Filipino woman after deceiving her by promising to marry her when he returned from his home country.

According to the woman, she visited the suspect when he came back from his country.  However, she was surprised when he asked her to go with him inside the room of his friend.  Upon entering the room, he started kissing and fondling her.  When she tried to push him, he slapped her on the face.  She then screamed for help calling the attention of the guard of the building and then she ran away and reported the incident at Hawally Police Station.  She provided police with a detailed description of the suspect who was arrested later.

Meanwhile, an Egyptian woman filed a complaint at Salmiya Police Station against an unidentified man, who was clad in sports clothes and driving a Jeep, for allegedly harassing her while she was standing in front of a restaurant.

The woman provided police with a description of the suspect and his vehicle.  Investigations are under way to arrest the man.

Immoral activity: Security Director of Ahmadi Governorate Brigadier Abdullah Safah, has referred three expatriates – two Filipinos and an Indian to the Public Prosecutor on moral grounds, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, the suspects were caught by a police patrol involved in immoral activity at a sea side.

The Filipinos did not have any ID and the Indian was carrying only the copy of the passport.

Meanwhile, the Hawalli police have arrested a Kuwaiti and his girlfriend for involving in immoral activity, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added the citizens were in the parking lot in Nugra. They have been referred to the area police station.

Docs fake reports: The Ahmadi police have summoned for interrogation two doctors for allegedly faking two medical reports, reports Al-Anba daily.

The daily added, the authorities are looking into the possibility of the doctors issuing more fake reports.

Sources added, the police will look into cases of fake medical reports that may have been issued by the two doctors in return for money.

Man held with drugs: The Mubarak Al-Kabir police have arrested an unidentified person for possessing and trafficking in drugs, reports Al-Rai daily. Police have reportedly seized from the suspect 15 cigarettes stuffed with drugs and drug consumption tools.

The suspect was arrested by a police patrol in Al-Qosour. Initially the suspect was arrested for reckless driving and while issuing a citation, police discovered he was abnormal.

He has been handed over to the General Department for Drugs Control.
