IBL Tigers, Falcon, Eagles keep ranks

KUWAIT CITY, April 20: Piloted by lady bowler Neveen Wasel, the Asian Air Safari who were struggling from the start of the league showed the third rank Jordan Elite Bowlers how to play and trampled them with an easy 3,088-2,472 game score while the fierce animals – Tigers, Falcons and Eagles – kept their ranking in the sixth elimination round of the First Philippine Bowling Association in Kuwait – Kuwait Bowling Federation Cup 2019 Tenpin Bowling League held at the new bowling center in Kuwait, the Bowling Sporting Club Complex in  Salmiya. The six teams that registered victory were Asian Air Safari, UNIMONI Exchange, Swooping Eagles, Pin Pals, “X” Strikers and IBL Tigers while Falcon Int’l Cargo played bye.

Struggling from the start of the elimination round, the Asian Air Safari team displayed their winning style with killers’ instinct that humiliated the hapless Jordan Elite Bowlers with a 3,088-2,472 result. Led by lady bowler Neveen Wasel, who showed no mercy to their 3-man team competitors scored 200, 240, 189 (629) also grabbed the Ladies Class A – Individual High Score (240) and Individual High Average (177.5). The results of the 3-game series match up were 1,043-833, 1,055-812, 965-826. Aside from Neveen, high scorers were Aga Cuadrazal (562), Fadhi Al Masri (561), Sonia Mathews (534) and Aqeel Al Farisy (492) while the Jordan Elite Bowlers 3-man team were Ali Hikmat (536), Yousef Waleed (438) and Basma Ammar (384) who were dropped from third to sixth position while Asian Air Safari surge from sixth to second place.

The Falcon Int’l Cargo (2,962) who were grappling from the beginning of the elimination round with a 2-3 record scored their highest game with 2,962 points but still remain the cliff hangers with fifty six points behind the seventh placers Swooping Eagles. The top scorer was Jayson Gamba with his 232, 144, 169 (565), who got even scores in the Class B Individual High Game of 232 from Rani Skeik (232-220). Jayson was assisted by Gener Calingasan (491), Jess Tolentino (345), Imelda Calingasan (330), Christine Moreno (315), Mohammad Othman (158), Jhon Narvasa (143) and Jocelyn Barros (110).

Worthy of being called ‘PBAK kingpins’, the UNIMONI Exchange crushed to crumbs the second placers KRAHS (2,795-2,670), although short-handed in the first two games. In Game 1 they lost 830-942 but recovered in the second game 924-865 with a 53-point deficit in favor of their rivals. In Game 3, playing with full force the remittance kings subdued the sea monsters 1,061-863 and Rudy de Lima and his bowlers showed no indication to relinquish the throne they have been sitting on as Elite Cup depending champions. Top pointer was Rashid Aker Ali (547), assisted by Rudy de Lima (525), Ahmad Fadhil Karam (432), Mohammad Khaled (388) and Faisal Saleem (178) while the crashed KRAHS high scorer was Camilo Baker (506), supported by Rene Marzan (499), Moises Amahan (316), Joel Tizon (320), Mar Evangelista (283), Pilar Patula (150), Eden Danan (132) and Sam Behbehani (132).

Although NUSANTARA fielded only three bowlers through out the series they gave a good fight against the “X” Strikers winning the second game but bowed on the third game with the total score of (2,478-2,765). “X” men high pointer was Rocky Castil (517) assisted by Ceddie Faa (482), Cris Carungay (476), Joe Presenta (456) and Reygan Percy (420) while NUSANTARA had Mousa Abdullah (578), Nasser Seraj (449) and Saleh Faraj (436). “X” Strikers posted win-lose-bye record of 3-2-1 while NUSANTARA had 3-3-0. Winning for two successive weeks, the Pin Pals dominated the Incredi-Bowlers all throughout their scheduled 3-game series 838-746, 838-809, 851-819 (2,552-2,374). Vasant Harshan scored 465 points followed by Raj Reddy (438), Avinash Mathew (291), Allan Fernandes (259), Diego Camilo (249), Agnello Fernandes (225) and Neeta Fernandes (110) while the winless Incredi-Bowlers were Erick Chang (468), Melvin Alabado (409), Adolfo Prena (398), Lito Michael (394) and Chat Sarne (242). 

The Swooping Eagles recorded their fourth winning streak while the Dragon Bowlers registered their fifth consecutive week losses (2,592-2,351). Eagles high pointer was Clinton Cathers (499), followed by Riz Roque (429), Alonzo Bush (411), Myra Manalo (399) and Mona Corpuz (393) while Dragon Bowlers scorers were Ron Favor (441), Bing Robiso (320), Mustafa Ahmad (252), Bert Alilay (243), Valerio Lopez (228), Lester Matugas (224) and Hazel Gapero (206).

The IBL Tigers who were jolted by a shock defeat in the last games roared back to dominate the SKARZ on their way to a comfortable win 2,735-2,533. Topnotch was Rudolph Castelino (546), supported by Rani Skeik (510), Ulysses Menezes (484), Nadine Dias (432), Amam Agarwal (215) and Jason D’ Souza (122) while SKARZ had Stephen Sequiera (465), Melwin Isaac (427), Kathy Fernandes (376), Lionel Mendes (322), Ignatius Fernandes (256), Fatima Fernandes (214). Tigers’ win-lose-bye were 3-2-1 while SKARZ had 0-5-1.
