Asharq Discovery: Free Arabic infotainment platform goes live

DUBAI, Oct 10, (Agencies): SRMG, the largest integrated media group in the MENA region, has launched Asharq Discovery, an Arabic-language infotainment platform in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. This free-to-view platform features thousands of hours of premium content from Discovery’s catalog, hand-picked regional acquisitions, and original productions, catering to the growing demand for Arabic-language content in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. Asharq Discovery covers various genres, including pop science, crime, travel, food, wildlife, lifestyle, and reality.

The platform offers exclusive programs from Warner Bros. Discovery’s acclaimed catalog, fully re-versioned with Arabic voiceovers and graphics. Some of the featured shows at the launch include Gold Rush, 90 Day Fiancé, Morgan Freeman’s Through the Wormhole, and Wheeler Dealers.

Asharq Discovery is the result of a long-term partnership between SRMG and Warner Bros. Discovery, involving content selection rights, co-production of up to 30 hours per year, and the potential for global distribution of co-produced content through Warner Bros. Discovery platforms.

Jomana R. Al-Rashid, CEO of SRMG, expressed their commitment to enhancing the media and entertainment ecosystem in the region and mentioned the launch of Asharq Documentary, dedicated to uncovering stories in various fields.

Jamie Cooke, GM CEE, Middle East & Turkey of Warner Bros. Discovery, highlighted the transformative growth in the MENA entertainment industry and their aim to create inspiring Arabic content for global audiences.
