Art, music take center stage as Argentine embassy marks Nat’l Day

KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: Art, music and human experience took center stage at the celebration of the Argentine Embassy of the National Day of Argentina through paintings inspired by the Argentine city of Mendoza and the experience of reaching the Mount Aconcagua summit. Hosted by Dar Al-Athar Al-Islamiyyah, the event showcased Argentine culture and heritage, while celebrating the friendship between Argentina and Kuwait. The celebration brought together ambassadors, diplomatic corps members, media representatives, and members of the Argentine community in Kuwait.

Argentine Ambassador to Kuwait Ramiro Velloso affirmed art and music's role in connecting peoples and strengthening friendship between Kuwait and Argentina. He indicated that the National Day is a celebration of ties between the two nations, with the aim of introducing Argentine culture and heritage to the public. Expressing his happiness over holding the event, which was originally scheduled for May but was postponed due to the regional circumstances, he underscored the importance of this gathering in celebrating Argentina and its bond with Kuwait. He disclosed that the program gave the attendees a chance to explore the facets of Argentine culture through visual art, personal experience and music. Kuwaiti artist Nadia Al-Abdulghafour displayed paintings inspired by the city of Mendoza, while Shahad Al-Zaabi shared her experience of summiting Mount Aconcagua -- one of the most prominent natural landmarks in Argentina.
