KUWAIT CITY, Apr 20: Major General Abdin al-Abidin announced that 5,000 expatriates who had registered for amnesty and today from morning 1,000 illegal Indian expatriates registered at amnesty centers at the schools on the last day of the deadline issued by a ministerial decision that began early this month and ends on the 30th April.

He confirmed that from Tuesday 21st Apr undocumentd expats from Sri Lankan will be accepted for 5 days to take advantage of amnesty

In response to a question about the refusal of some countries to receive their nationals, Al-Abidin told that there are efforts in this regard and coordination with countries that have violators, expressing that there are good indicators in the direction of returning them to their countries.

He added, information which is been circulated that India will not allow its violating citizens to travel before May 25 it is not true, as the information indicates that the violators from India will begin traveling from 5th of May.

Al-Abideen pointed out that the amnesty reception centers have completed the procedures of thousands of violators of Indian nationality and were referred to shelters, pointing out that the concerned authorities have contacted the Indian embassy in the country to end the procedures of violators who do not hold passports or travel documents, by extracting new travel documents for them So that they can complete their procedures in preparation for their deportation from the country.

Al-Abideen called for all violators of all nationalities to take advantage of amnesty laid by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anas Al-Saleh, which ends at the end of April.

Stressing that this period is unprecedented in terms of concessions, whether with regard to the possibility of returning to Kuwait again or hosting them in schools for accommodation prepared to receive them.
