Around 1,600 staff apply to encash leave

KUWAIT CITY, April 25: The Director of the Information Systems Center and the official spokesman for the Ministry of Public Works, Eng. Ahmed Al-Saleh, said about 900 employees have applied to cash their annual leave balance during service following a decision issued by the Civil Service Commission; Resolution No. 2 of 2022 issued on 4/10/2022, reports Al- Jarida daily.

Al-Saleh indicated that immediately after the decision was issued, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Public Works issued Circular No. 39/ 2022 issued on 12/4/2022 regarding the mechanism for requesting the exchange of cash allowance, in implementation of the decisions and circulars issued in this regard, and the Ministry began receiving requests from its employees in accordance with the circular that has been issued. Al-Saleh said that the conditions of the Civil Service Bureau are applied in this regard and the applicant has to fulfill several conditions to benefit from the balance of his leave.

Meanwhile, the Al-Jarida daily quoting the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for the Financial and Administrative Affairs Sector at the Ministry, Badr Al-Adwani, revealed that the Department of Administrative Affairs in the Ministry received, since the decision of the CSC until date about 700 requests have been received from its employees who wish to encash the balance of leave.

He pointed out the Administrative Circular No. (6/A) of 2022, issued by the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs, regarding the mechanism for submitting requests for cash allowance exchange for the vacation balance, obligating the Ministry’s employees who meet the conditions to submit the application on the prescribed form to the Secretarial Department of the Investigations and Contracts Department, no later than June 16, so that it can be approved and handed over to the Administrative Affairs Department to take the necessary action regarding the disbursement in accordance with the established controls.
