KUWAIT CITY, Feb 4: The Criminal Court adjourned to February 17 the issuance of its verdict on the case filed against 18 citizens, including an employee of the National Guard and a woman, who were accused of stealing weapons and ammunition from the National Guard for the purpose of trafficking.

According to the case file, the court questioned the eight present defendants who are charged with seizing public funds, and possessing weapons and ammunition without a license for the purpose of trafficking. The defendants denied all charges leveled against them.

The defendants were arrested in the months of July and August after the loss of 38 weapons and ammunition from the National Guard. Investigations had concluded that the first defendant – a soldier – was behind the theft, and sold them to the second defendant, who then sold them to the rest of the defendant. A number of them were seized by the security authorities.
